Student Leadership Board (SLB) (year-long position)
Members of Hillel UW’s Student Leadership Board (SLB) represent and communicate student needs and interests and address them creatively in our programmatic themes for each quarter.
There are 5 members of the Student Leadership Board. There will be a student Chair of the Student Leadership Board (if this is of interest, please complete the additional section on the application).
As a member of SLB, you will:
-Come with a can do attitude and a genuine excitement for connecting students to Jewish life!
-Meet weekly as a team
-Attend at least half of the Shabbat dinners at Hillel UW each quarter, willing to help as needed
-Design and implement a minimum of one program each quarter in coordination with the undergraduate program staff
-Help plan and staff at least two Dawg Daze events (in late September)
-Staff a table on campus at least once per quarter
-Engage in marketing and recruitment for programs, including use of personal social media and peer-to-peer outreach
**Members of the 25-26 SLB are required to attend two leadership training sessions at Hillel on Thursday 5/15 and 5/22 from 5:30-7:30pm. Dinner will be provided for each session.**
Members of the 25-26 SLB are also required to attend some of the current SLB meetings (in May) to get a sense of SLB culture and help start planning Dawg Daze for fall quarter.
Additionally, the Student Leadership Board Chair will:
-Stay informed about upcoming programming, including tabling and pop ups; encouraging collaboration; promoting partnerships with other clubs on campus; and creating a positive, fun environment in which all leaders can thrive.
-Meet weekly with a member of Hillel UW’s program team
-Coordinate with Hillel’s University of Washington RSO advisor as needed
-Reregister Hillel UW as an RSO in fall quarter
-Serve as Hillel UW’s Student Senate representative as needed
-Work with the HUB for reservations only accessible to student representatives of RSOs
